Visitor FAQs
Can I take photographs?
Yes — photography without flash is welcome everywhere except the Book of the Dead gallery, where papyrus rests in low light. Tripods need a permit from the desk.
Is the museum accessible?
Every floor is lift-served, wheelchairs are free to borrow, and assistance dogs are welcome. Quiet hours run 9–11 am on the first Sunday of each month.
Do I need to book in advance?
General admission never needs a booking — just walk in. Timed tickets are only required for Mummies After Dark evenings and curator-led tours.
Where can I eat nearby?
Our atrium café serves lunch daily until 4 pm, and members enjoy bottomless filter coffee. Picnics are welcome in the lane garden behind the museum.
